Mode of Study


The popular engaging approach to studying with direct access from Monday to Friday to resources, lecturers and support staff. Contact Study is a rich guided approach to learning which is underlined by the social value of campus education. One of the greatest advantages of contact learning at Creative Arts College is the amount of time spent in well equipped studios with industry-simulated activities.


A blended study accommodates for multiple methods of teaching and learning engagements. In this structure the student will engage with the college on a digital platform for theoretical learning whilst still having access to the campus facility and studios for practical sessions and master classes. Students that embark on this mode of study must have a suitable device such as a laptop, access to the Internet and a high level of discipline.

Programme Type


A National Qualification is a qualification registered on the National Qualification Framework and quality assured by a South African Quality Assurance Authority such as QCTO, CHE or UMALUSI. These include both National and Occupational Certificates.


A Skill Programme is a provider based programme designed to meet an immediate need of a specific sector as per industry demand. A skills programme focuses on a skill set that can be applied as a trade seamlessly whilst addressing certain skills gaps that currently exist.


A Bridging Programme can be utilised by a learner that has not achieved the NQF Level 4 Matric/National Certificate. This program will incorporate an NQF Level 4 Qualification which may allow access into an NQF Level 5 Qualification, whilst also increasing the learners scope and capacity in the Media Sector. The NQF Level 4 Qualification must be completed successfully prior to registration into a Level 5 Qualification.


A Student with an extended scope in the Creative Media Sector will stand a better chance of access and success due to their complementary knowledge and skills. Please refer to the programme fact sheet for an in-depth understanding of the course structure.


The IT Next Gen Programme is a pivotal programme comprising of 3 full qualifications that have been packaged to address competencies leading into the 4th Industrial Revolution.
